The ground in Belgium is shaking as they advance to the round of 16 in a 1-0 victory over Russia. Coming into the World Cup, Belgium has always been the underdogs to watch, and boy you better be watching them! Winning their first two matches in the group stage, they are guaranteed a spot in the knockouts and will probably finish first in their group. I have always had faith in Belgium and what they can do. With strong defenders like Kompany and Van Buyten and a deadly attacking line with Hazard, Fellaini, Lukaku, and DeBruyne they can make it very far in this competition. Though the world was disappointed with Belgium’s opener, I was impressed. This second game Belgium had also made their fans wait, but good things come to those who wait! With 5 great chances in the last ten minutes, one had to hit the back of the net. Eden Hazard finally stepped it up, and showed the world he is worthy of the respect he gets. Spinning in the box and wrapping his boot around the ball to get a shot was a great chance. He also created the only goal by beating a player, getting on the line and sending a ball to be finished in a half-open net. Ladies and gentlemen, EDEN HAZARD IS BACK! No one has ever said Belgium will win the World Cup, but with Spain and England going home, and many other strong teams not on their game, there will always be a possibility that underdogs like Belgium, Ghana and Chile can take this tournament.
