Stock markets around the world have seen several tough summer months, mainly highlighting the weakness in the Chinese economy and a huge oversupply in most commodity markets, such as oil, which has seen surplus per day average at 1.7 million barrels. With all this negativity in the global economy, a correction for the major stock markets was bound to come, right? Continue reading →
The Toronto Maple Leafs (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA). Don’t worry let it out, the Leafs are a joke, trust me, I too had a fair share of chuckles. Leafs fans, you have to face it. Your team sucks. And by saying your “team” sucks (notice the quotation marks) I don’t mean the players on the “team” (once again take notice of the quotation marks), I mean the team itself. Like seriously, the Leafs have some of the best players in North America yet the cannot put the “team” (I don’t have to point out that there are quotation marks, but I’ll still do it for the fun of it) together. I mean you have that spoiled brat Phil Kessel who has no respect for anyone and anything. I have reason to believe that Philip is bi-polar. After all, he has his days and is most notably known for his periods of time where he does not speak to media or to anyone. He is also known for his scoring droughts. Wow, at a $6.5 million salary per year, I think this dude should be doing just a little bit more for the team. I have reason to believe that the top guys at MLSE were smoking something when they signed that contract.
With every “team” comes a captain, and judging by how this “team” performs and what their attitudes are like, some would get the impression that the “captain” of this “team” is not doing his job properly. BINGO! Those impressions turned out to be reality.
Dion Phaneuf, or the Pylon
like to call him, is anything but the typical captain. When compared to some of the greatest captains in Leafs history, the Pylon stands nowhere (see what I did there). This man brings home $8 million a year for him and his wife to throw around and share (please don’t pursue legal action Elisha) for just acting like a pylon. Heck, even Nazem Kadri could make a better captain!
Now I’m pretty sure all hockey fans are disgusted after reading this. Leafs fans, not so much as you guys are used to this type of BS. So who could solve the Leafs’ problems? Brendan Shanahan had the tough job of choosing the newest Leafs coach, however I believe he made the best decision.
Remember that mean looking guy who coached Team Canada to Olympic Gold in both 2010 & 2014?
Yeah, well, he’s the new Leafs coach. WOW. Yeah and guess how much $$$ they’re paying him…
You guessed wrong! That mean looking guy is getting paid $6.25 million a year! This was met by outrage from some, however I think it’s just perfect. After all he has to deal with millionaire brats like Bi-Polar Phil and Dion The Pylon Phaneuf. Well it seems like MLSE was NOT smoking something when they signed this contract. They’re dead serious about the Leafs (HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA) at this point. What they want to do is take away that “HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA” every time someone mentions the Leafs (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA).
So that is my zakopinion. What’s your zakopinion? Make sure to vote below and feel free to further voice YOUR ZAKOPINION by commenting. The Leafs need this restructuring. Do you agree or disagree? What’s YOUR zakopinion?
You know one of those times when your earbud wires are all entangled and you don’t have the time or just doesn’t want to untangle it? Trust me, I’ve been there. There are a couple of ways to fix this annoying problem.
1. Buy a pair of earbuds with anti-tangle wires.
High end earbuds such as the Bose QC20 and the Beats Tour 2.0 offer anti-tangle wires. This solves the problem because the wires have extra support or are very wide and fixed so it doesn’t get messed up in your pocket. Now this is going to be quite an investment for an earbud. Your looking at $100 to $400 for a good pair. However, on top of that, most earbuds in that price offer amazing sound (good tremble and plumped bass). Also the Bose QC20 offers noise cancelling that block all external noises. The QC20 is a very good earbud. It is the top of the line earbud. Although it costs $329.95, the amazing bass, tremble and the splendid noise cancelling is well worth the price, not to mention that the wires never tangle.
If your budget doesn’t allow for $100 to $400 dollars, you might want to consider buying some cheap plastic clips. You’d want to buy a small clip. After each time of listening to music. Nicely wrap your earbud wires around and clip it. This way, there is no way for the wires to entangle since the clip is supporting the wires. This should cost only $5.
There are more ways to solve this annoying problem. However, the two listed above are the most effective. This should save you a ton of time untangling your earbuds.
Everyone loves to show off their latest gadgets. I’m guilty of it too. I got this…I got that… it’s just really satisfying to display to your friends what you have over them. This is what the digital age has done to us, it makes us oblivious to the real world. We spend our money buying the latest technology. To make the facts clear, I am not opposed to this. However, I am starting to realize that showing off is perhaps not that much of a good idea.
What do we get out of showing off? The answer is jealously and desire from other people. Other peers will also want to have what they envy the most. This is a big problem for a few reasons. If the whole point of you showing off is to create a satisfactory kind of feeling by leaving your friend to envy and be jealous of what you own, then wouldn’t they want the thing even more? You can create of problem for yourself from people who envy too much what you have. This can result in some very crazy outcomes such as robbing or stealing. That is not fun at all.
Now that I’ve discussed one way showing off can cause trouble, let’s move on to the other one.
Ever since money was created, people desired money. This is true in the modern 21st century. With money, anything is possible. I have heard of many stories where a multi millionaire or a billionaire’s son has been kidnapped and held for ransom. Why? The answer is quite obvious. MONEY! Cause that’s the only thing that matters to some people.
Showing off may give you happiness, but in the end, it will always back-stab you. It will always come to haunt you.
Dion Phaneuf, his wife Elisha Cuthbert, and Joffrey Lupul were outraged to see a tweet broadcasted by TSN on Monday. While I have not seen this tweet, it is apparently hurtful, so hurtful that the trio has decided to take legal action. C’mon? TSN already apologized for airing the tweet. I think this is totally pathetic. Dion Phaneuf who earns 8 million USD a year, his wife who is worth $20 million, and Lupul who earns 5 million USD, are hurt by one tweet? Guys if you head on over to twitter, you’ll find thousands of tweets insulting you. You guys are worth so much, why care about this. Go buy yourselves a new car or some shit like that. They’ve even hired a lawyer to seek damages. SEEK DAMAGES? HOW MUCH CAN YOU SEEK. YOU GUYS ARE ALREADY ULTRA RICH.
Now these are the true representatives of the spoiled population.
Fannie Mae (OTCBB:FNMA) and Freddie Mac (OTCBB:FMCC) are undoubtedly two of the biggest and most controversial mortgage companies in the US. Fannie Mae was created during the great depression in order to provide local banks with federal money to finance home mortgages, in turn resulting in more affordable housing and a higher level of home ownership. In the 1970’s Freddie Mac joined Fannie Mae. In current day, these two own about half of USA’s $12 trillion mortgage market. That’s quite a big number. Let’s get to why Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (OTCBB:FNMAOTCBB:FMCC) will be making you money.
1. The US economy is making a comeback. After being hit hard during the 2008 recession, the US is ready to bounce back. A low Canadian dollar also signals well for the US as they can buy from their neighbors and get 20% off. This works quite well for FNMA and FMCC as the number of people wanting to own homes. If the unemployment rate keeps on dropping, these two stocks will prosper as more people will want to buy houses.
2. FNMA and FMCC are very good stocks to trade on. By trading on, I mean you can make money off these two gems bi-weekly. When one is up, the other is up. So it’s double the gain and double the loss. Looking at both of their charts for the last 3 months, there have been numerous opportunities to hope on board at $2.10 and say bye at $2.40. That’s a good 15% you could make every 2 weeks.
Basically, FNMA and FMCC can prosper. If the U.S. economy makes a full turnaround, these two could mirror pre-recession times. With the U.S. creating 257,000 jobs in the month of January, it is already a signal that the U.S. economy is making a turn for the good. More houses will be bought meaning that FNMA and FMCC are headed to the top.
The Canadian economy isn’t doing so well. This means Canadian traders have to take desperate measures in order to avoid an extra cost of 20% when making U.S trades. Luckily, this stock has got you covered. Headquartered at Bay Street is none other than Difference Capital Inc (TSE:DCF). Infamous Porsche-Driving Dragon’s Den star Michael Wekerle is CEO of DCF. Wekerle is a Bay Street veteran. He most notably helped Canadian Tech giant BlackBerry become public back in ’95. Now he’s leading a company that helps other small companies go public. Wekerle alongside some other investors are also trying to create a Canadian Silicon Valley in Waterloo. Let’s get to why you should buy Difference Capital Inc. (TSE:DCF).
Difference Capital funds and advises private companies in exchange for equity. The reason why DCF is a stock to buy is because they could be investing in the next big thing. If this happens, the stock would soar. DCF has currently invested in more than 20 companies including Guestlogix and Vision Critical Communications. Most investors are keeping away from Canadian market. One thing for sure is not to be keeping away from Difference Capital.
Last year, Wekerle bought some BlackBerry buildings that were up for sale. His plan is to turn them into Canada’s Silicon Valley. If lots of companies start moving in to his buildings, Difference Capital will soar. If so, it could be Canada’s equivalent of Goldman Sachs. Wekerle plans to raise $200 million for the area.
These are zakopinion’s reasons as to why you should invest in Difference Capital.
Many young adults are currently in financial trouble . They are thousands of dollars in debt and have no job to pay it off. There are many problems with this. It affects us and our economy as a whole. The problem actually starts way younger, when the teenagers are still in school.
The first problem is their parents. A parent is supposed to teach their son(s)/daughter(s) how to manage and organize things in their life. Many parents love their kids so much, they’d do anything for them. This makes the child spoiled. The first problem with a spoiled child is that they won’t be liked in school, however, that is only a very small problem. The big issue here is that they will have no sense of money and finances. In their mind and eyes, they see expensive stuff come to their hands on a daily basis with no effort. They don’t know the value of money and they have no sense of how to manage or spend their money. Whereas a child who is on an allowance for doing chores will know to save up money for a big item. Also, they would know many important skills like money management and the dangers of overspending. I think some parents just need to change their attitude towards their kids and treat them like a young adult. In the long run, it will definitely benefit their child.
Now, to the other major problem. Financial literacy is hardly taught in schools. We only learned the basics like interests and banks and a little bit if the stock market when we are young. We were never taught how to save money, organize funds, save for a pension etc… There is also the problem of credit cards. I clearly remembered that when I was two years old, I though credits cards were pieces of plastic with an infinite about of money. Then, at the age of four, I realized that credit cards have to be paid back and that they are only funds given to the user. However, without schools teaching that, many young adults don’t know that. They would end up using thousands of dollars that they don’t have and expect their parents to pay the money. Well, parents ain’t going to support you when you’re older than 18. These people often get buried in debt as they will have a family to raise, a car to support and a mortgage to pay off. The education boards should seriously add more content for their financial literacy section. Credit cards should also be seen as dangerous money grabbers, not miracle money producers. Cause’ in the end, the bank will always win.
I seriously hope that the world changed sometimes. Teenagers should know how to spend their money effectively. Most importantly, their parents and the education board have to change.
I am here with the latest on Pan Am updates. I live in York Region in the GTA (for those who don’t know where it is). I drove on this street last year and while I was approaching a block, I saw a Pan-Am site and examined it a bit. Over time it went into a new phase of development. Currently, it seems like it is fully developed, but maybe being evaluated on the inside to see if the facility is up to the safety requirements.
Pan-Am go back home, no Canadian wants you here! I am wasting my tax dollars just for this, a game that I will not watch, costing Canada billions of dollars to be wasted. Do you know what we could have used that wasted tax dollars for? All this good money could have been spent for fighting Ebola in west Africa or something Canadians actually NEED. We could have improved the TTC or something. Not all this money will be given back to us, the Pan Am games will start on July 10 and end on July 26.
If Canada wins, the only thing I will have is pride. Well, I don’t think pride costs over 3 billion dollars. If some other country wins, then they could have held the games instead. I mean, just compare this to the 2014 World Cup. Brazil hosted it and they got fourth place, FOURTH PLACE, are you freaking kidding me!
As I mentioned in a post during the world cup, Brazil had to spend money on renovating stadiums and building new stadiums for the 2013 Confederations Cup, the 2014 World Cup and they are hosting the 2016 Summer Olympics. This has cost Brazil billions of Reais, causing mass protests.
I have run out of shit to say, I hate it when Canada has to waste money for something we will never get back. Yeah like who’s gonna pay money to watch some shit games. The Olympics are much better. Vancouver already paid off their debt. Toronto is gonna be a totally different story I just hope that I can quickly design an Anti-Pan Am t-shirt and we can get this on the zakopinion market. Thank you and be prepared for the new Anti-Pan Am t-shirts in mid-2015.
This is Bossjamesinternational and I approve this message
Today, an unmanned satellite was deployed from a rocket called the Rosetta Project. The entire project was to have an unmanned satellite land on an asteroid. Then, the satellite was to take photos of the sights from the asteroid and take drill samples to study. This might seem easy however it was actually very difficult. There were endless calculations to do. The gravitation pull and push, the orbit speed, the amount of thrust needed for the unmanned satellite to land perfectly and much more. People in the project spent thousands of hours just doing the calculations. Preparations, programming, and approval of projects took even longer. The project started in 2004 and was the beginning of a long arduous journey. The rocket carrying the space probe satellite was launched in 2004. It traveled for many years using the gravitational pull of the sun. Finally, on November 12th, 2014, the rocket was near the asteroid that was the target of the mission. It was floating between Mars and Jupiter. The probe was deployed. It successfully landed on the surface of the asteroid. As this happened billions of miles away from Earth, people from the European Space Agency command center let out a great sigh of relief. The landing was no exactly smooth. The probe landed on a rocky and uneven region. Only one of the drills that were intended to penetrate the asteroid worked. This makes the job harder because of the instability of the probe itself. The probe already took picture of the sights of the asteroid. The next thing the probe will do is insert a drill core to get samples from the asteroid.
Many people say this project was very significant because it could clarify many unknown facts about asteroids. We currently can only guess many features of an asteroid and don’t know much about it. Many people are hoping that with this latest project, people would understand more about asteroids and their movement. This is very true; however, the cons overtake the pros of this project easily.
This project was very costly. In fact, it costs over a billion dollars. Many countries need the money to help ease the debt. That was a billion dollars basically wasted. I say wasted because I don’t gain anything from this. Only the scientists will get gain from this. The sole reason of this was to clarify facts on asteroids. Also, the entire project is in the air, literality. Two-thirds of the securing mechanisms didn’t even work properly and the risk of the probe slipping out from the surface of the asteroid is imminent. We can’t get the billion dollars back because doing this project will have no affect on our global economy what-so-ever. What is the point of this then? This is one of the most lavished and pathetic ways to treat money I can think of. Literally, these people are sending money into the air —-that most likely, will never come back to Earth.
This money could have been better spent investing in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and disease combats like Ebola. Why would one spend such money on something of so little significance? The world needs money. We can explore the universe once we have the major issues on Earth solved and figured out. This is truly outrageous.
Guys… Don’t support this BS. This is an insult to people who live in third world countries. Think about all the poor little children in the world who are so helpless. A billion dollars would have been spent to help those children. I truly fell horrible for the children in Africa. I hope no more of this crap happens again. Money should be regarded as a luxury, not as something that comes easily.
